Unfortunately the wind today is far too strong for our gazebo and we are unable to run the event today as planned. We have left the trail up and prizes (sticker sheets) will be available in the Town Information Centre (open until 3.30pm today and open 9.30am – 1.30pm Saturday). Apologies for the inconvenience and hope you enjoy the trail over the weekend.
Town Council Meetings
Council and committee meetings are normally held on Monday evenings, in the Town Hall in the Market Place at 7.00 pm. Members of the public are welcome to attend all council and committee meetings. A small number of meetings are closed to the public due to the nature of the business being discussed, for example the Personnel Committee.
A public participation period is set aside at the start of each meeting during which members of the public may comment or ask questions regarding any matter on the agenda.
The public and press may be asked to leave a meeting during discussion of some matters. Those matters are defined in law.
If you would like to speak at a council or committee meeting please our Meetings Officer at meetings@wallingfordtowncouncil.gov.uk
Accessibility in the Town Hall: Council Meetings
Unfortunately, our stair lift in the Town Hall is no longer working. As we work towards a solution, to ensure we are meeting our accessibility requirements, we will be offering the option of screening the meeting on the ground floor of the Town Hall where there is ramp access. This will be in effect from the Full Council meeting on 22nd April.
Are you interested in attending a meeting with this access arrangement?
We ask members of the public to give us 3 days notice. This is to enable us sufficient time to provide additional staffing and to make technical arrangements. Agendas are normally published three full days before a meeting, excluding the day of the meeting, the day of the agenda publication and Sundays.
Town Council Committees
The Town Council conducts the majority of business through a structure of committees that meet on a regular basis throughout the year.
Additionally, the Council use ad hoc working groups to execute some of their work, for example the organisation of a particular Town Council event. Unlike committees, these working groups can have non-elected members, for example members of the public or stakeholder bodies who have been identified as having particular interests and contributions. Please contact our Meetings Officer at meetings@wallingfordtowncouncil.gov.uk for a list of our current working groups.
