The Town Hall

Located in the heart of the Town Centre the Town Hall offers a Chamber Room and Committee Room which are perfect to host a small meeting or larger conference, a wedding or civil ceremony, a wake, a birthday tea party, a naming ceremony, an exhibition and more. Each room is full of its own character.

The Town Hall has a ramp into the ground floor of the building, a stair lift and disabled toilet facilities. Please note that our stairlift is currently out of order. We apologies for any inconvenience as we work towards a solution.

The Main Chamber

The walls are adorned with commemorative boards, listing all the Town Mayors of Wallingford since 1231 to the present day.

This room can comfortably accommodate up to 60 guests, for a wide range of functions, including weddings and civil ceremonies, naming ceremonies, private parties, wakes and conferences.

The Committee Room

The Committee Room has the perfect ambience for smaller, more intimate functions or events.

The room can accommodate up to 20 guests and like the Main Chamber, displays artefacts of Wallingford’s impressive history, including the Town Mace, dated 1650, and is said to have been copied for the mace of the House of Commons.

Main Chamber £295.00 plus VAT (additional hour £50.00 plus VAT per hour) *

Committee Room £250.00 plus VAT (additional hour £30.00 plus VAT per hour) *

There will be a charge of £15 (plus VAT) per hour, per additional staff member (s) that may be required.

 

Concessional Hire Charge Rate 

 

To qualify for concessional hire charge rate, please see the Concessional Hire Charge Rate Policy.

Concessional Hire Rate – £15.00 flat rate charge per hour – Minimum hire charge 2 hours

There will be a charge of £15 (plus VAT) per hour, per additional staff member (s) that may be required.

The concessional rate is set at the discretion of the Town Clerk. The concessional rate is for local charities or not for profit organisations.

 

Filming and Photography – For television, film and photographic location hire, please contact us directly.

Weddings

All weddings require a minimum two hour hire period.

All weddings are managed by our events manager, who will be in attendance to ensure that during the proceedings all arrangements comply with the conditions of the venue license.

Before confirming a booking the hirer is responsible for liaising directly with the Registrars at Oxford County Council to ensure they are available. The cost of the registrars service is in addition to the venue hire costs and the cost of the registrars must be paid directly to the registrars.

Standard Rate *

Monday – Sunday (whole building)  £495.00 plus VAT (two hour hire period)

Residents of the Parish of Wallingford who book the Town Hall for their wedding are entitled to a £20 discount with proof of residency.

Castle Gardens

The Castle Gardens offer a fantastic backdrop for photographs, whether for wedding photos, a family get-together, or even a birthday celebration.

Photos can be taken in front of our romantic crumbling ruins of Wallingford Castle which was one of the most important and biggest Castles in England.*

*Please note that the Castle Gardens ruins are currently closed due to conservation works.
