Town Councillor Vacancy to be filled by Co-option at the Full Council Meeting on Monday 11th January 2021 - How to express an interest
Wallingford Town Council has one vacancy to fill due to Councillor Stewart Davies resignation in October 2020 and this we may fill by co-option.
The Co-option will take place at next Monday's Full Council TEAM meeting (Monday 11th January 2021).
Our other vacancy caused by the resignation of Councillor Lee Upcraft we have been told by the District Council should be filled by election in May 2021.
If you are interested, a summary of why you wish to be a Town Councillor along with your confirmation that you meet the following criteria is required by 12noon on Friday 8th January 2021. Please email this to : firstname.lastname@example.org
The council requires candidates who will be considered for co-option to declare or certify in writing that they,
• Meet the criteria for eligibility, set out in s.79 of the Local Government Act 1972, to be a member of the council,
• They are not disqualified, pursuant to s.80 of the same act to be a member of the council
