Summer and Winter (Long stay) Moorings
The Wallingford moorings are situated on the River Thames, a short walk from the centre of Wallingford, with views over the historic Castle Meadows. Wallingford Town Council manages the moorings on both sides of the river, upstream from Wallingford Bridge.
The moorings can be used free of charge from 9am until 7.30pm daily.
A mooring fee is charged for overnight stays during the ‘short-term’ summer season.
- £6 (per boat, per night for boats less than 5 meters) and
- £12 (per boat, per night for boats more than 5 meters)
Long stay (non-occupied) moorings are available in the Winter season by application. See below for further details.
How to pay
Short-term / Summer overnight mooring
Short-term Summer Season Mooring is on a first come first served basis, we are unable to reserve spaces for short term mooring. (See the terms and conditions of using our short-term moorings below.)
If you are on the short-term moorings, you can stay up to a maximum of 5 days. Our Moorings Officer collects the fee’s on a daily basis, if you would prefer to pay online, please visit our ‘Payment Page‘.
Longer Stay / Winter storage moorings
Long term winter season mooring is available by application only. (See the terms and conditions of using our Long-term moorings below).
Once we have received your application and documents an invoice will be sent to you. This can be paid via BACS as detailed on the invoice or please visit our ‘Payment Page‘.

Short Term Moorings
Overnight stays on the moorings are currently charged at from 1st March to 31st October.
- £6 (per boat per night, for boats less than 5 meters) and
- £12 (per boat per night for boats more than 5 meters)
Mooring fees are collected daily by a member of Wallingford Town Council staff.
Boat owners or users wishing to stay for more than five nights can make a request to Wallingford Town Council.

Winter Moorings
Boat owners and users can apply to Wallingford Town Council to use the moorings on a longer-term basis during the off-peak period (1st November – 28th/29th February).
Please note during winter moorings boat owners and users must not occupy the mooring for residential purposes.
