Benches

The upkeep of the town centre benches are managed by the Town Council, please get in touch if you should spot a problem with one. Memorial Benches can be found around the Town, especially in our quieter locations such as the Castle Garden’s, Kinecroft Park and Bull Croft Park which provide a space to rest, reflect and remember, please do contact the Town Council if you are interested in donating a Memorial Bench.

Christmas Lights

The Town Council provides the Christmas Tree and Christmas Lights to celebrate the season and encourage shopping in the town in the darker months.

Town Centre Flags and Banners

The banners and flags are maintained by the Town Council. They celebrate the town and what the town has to offer visitors and residents.

Hanging Baskets, Planters and flower beds

There are various hanging baskets, planters and beds around the town centre which are maintained by the Town Council. The Parks Team nurture and grow the flowers which are displayed during the summer period. The planting schemes aim to welcome visitors and present a warm and inviting place to spend time shopping or meeting with friends and family for leisure purposes. Bicycle Racks

There are plenty of bike racks located around the Town Centre to use. Please view the map of where the racks are located. Bike Racks located at the Library, Museum, St Mary-le-More and Waitrose are for customers only.

Defibrillators

The Circuit is the national defibrillator network which provides the NHS Ambulance Services with vital information about defibrillators across the UK. To find the nearest defibrillator location near you visit Defib finder – find the defibrillators nearest you.

Town Centre Events

Our Town Centre lends itself as a venue for many community events delivered by local organisations as well as the Town Council. Visit the ‘What’s On’ page for more information.

The Pancake Race, Car Rally, Carnival and Christmas Carols, all attract good numbers of people and positive vibes. The community spirit is a must to enjoy as we gather together at events and showcase our talents, local community networks and groups and have fun!

Public Toilets

Public Toilets are located in the Cattle Market Car Park and also by the Riverside.

Cattle Market Car Park, off New Road, OX10 0AU. Open from 8am – 7:30pm

Riverside, off The Street, OX10 0BU. Open March until September from 8am – 6pm

Dog Waste Bins
