Parks and Open Spaces  

Wallingford is fortunate to be home to a number of parks, green spaces and Children’s play areas, which provide residents and visitors opportunities for sport, leisure and recreation. Find out more about our parks and open spaces here.

Riverside Park and Pool

Located by the Riverside is a heated outdoor pool and splash park which is great for a family day out. Better Leisure (on behalf of South Oxfordshire District Council) run and manage the Riverside pool area which is open in the summer months. Local Sports and Clubs 

The Town Council own and maintain the sports facilities in the Bullcroft Park including tennis courts and basket ball courts which are free to use (no booking required) and also football pitch areas. Wallingford is home to other independent facilities such as Wallingford Sports Park which has all weather pitches and a sports bar and is home to Wallingford Rugby Club, Wallingford Hockey Club, Football Club, Skittles Club, Squash Club, Tennis Club and Wallingford Castle Archers. The Corn Exchange

Situated in the Market Place, the Corn Exchange stages theatre productions and shows mainstream films throughout the year. Visit the Corn Exchange website for more details on what’s on.

Wallingford Library

This service is managed by Oxfordshire County Council and located in the centre of Wallingford and is more than a place where you can find books, it is a valuable resource for local communities and offers services and facilities such as newspapers and magazines, audio books, eBooks, DVD’s, free Wi-Fi, bus pass blue badge and resident parking validation services, computers and internet use, local studies collection, printing and copying facilities and is also a place to find out about events, clubs or projects in the town.

Cholsey and Wallingford Heritage Railway

The River Thames

The River Thames runs alongside Wallingford providing residents and visitors with much to do, whether it is having a picnic by the river, hiring a boat, having a splash in the Riverside Pool or taking one of the lovely walks and trails.
